A week set aside to appreciate all the work our little buzzing and crawling friends do to make the garden complete. Although there won’t be a formal event to celebrate International Pollinator’s Week, take time this week to notice all the bees, bugs and butterflies that work with us to produce delicious organic produce and beautiful flowers.

High Fire Risk

Metro Vancouver has informed us of a High Fire Danger Rating for Colony Farm Gardens and Park .

All high risk activity must cease between 1pm to sunset.
These activities include:
-use of gas powered equipment
-use of tools that may emit a spark or flame (no cutting metal)
-use of any open flame or ember-producing equipment such as bbqs or propane stoves

Smoking is not permitted in the park. If you should see someone smoking in the gardens, consider offering a gentle reminder of the fire hazard.
